Sts. Peter and Paul school moves to virtual learning

April 3, 2021

Dear Parents/Guardians of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Elementary School,

Please be advised that the decision has been made to close Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Elementary School for the remainder of the outbreak period and to move students to virtual learning.

The school will move to fully virtual learning and be closed to students for in-school learning, effective Tuesday, April 6, 2021, with a return to in-person learning on Monday, April 19, 2021.

The decision to close was made by the HWCDSB COVID-19 Steering Committee out of the board’s priority concern for the health and safety of our students and staff, and our ability to sufficiently staff school with so many staff currently in quarantine. The pivot to virtual learning will enable Sts. Peter and Paul CES to continue to safely support student learning.

While there was an opportunity for students to collect personal belongings and any learning materials needed for a move to remote learning last Thursday, families that need to pick-up belongings should contact the school.

We encourage students and staff to continue to monitor for symptoms of COVID-19. Any individuals who book a COVID-19 test are asked to use the outbreak number assigned to Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Elementary School by Hamilton Public Health Services: # 2237-2021-36819. This will enable public health officials to link all cases associated with the two school outbreaks.

In closing, we wish to assure you of our ongoing commitment to the health, safety and well-being of our students and staff.
